Disappointing Stay - Be Wary of Power, Water, and Service My recent stay at Hotel- The York was largely disappointing, and I feel compelled to share my experience so others can be prepared. Firstly, the power backup situation is abysmal. Despite a prominent generator at the entrance, it appears to be purely for show. The hotel relies on a tiny inverter for backup, meaning even minor power outages plunge the property into darkness, and there's no real contingency for sustained power cuts. Be prepared for uncomfortable conditions if the power goes out. Secondly, don't expect complimentary water bottles. You're forced to purchase them, and at ₹30 each, I had serious doubts about the authenticity of the water provided. This felt like an unnecessary and questionable nickel-and-dime tactic. Room service is another major letdown. I ordered a simple cup of tea that took over two hours to arrive, and when it did, it was completely cold. It's clear that room service is not a priority, and guests should avoid ordering from here if they value promptness and quality. Finally, and most concerningly, I experienced a significant earthing current issue throughout my room. Every tap and water outlet had a noticeable current, which was not only uncomfortable but also quite alarming. While the issue was eventually "resolved," it came at the cost of not being able to use the geysers – a major problem, especially if you're staying during colder months. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel. The lack of proper power backup, the charge for basic amenities like water, the dreadful room service, and the serious electrical safety concerns made for a very unpleasant experience. Look elsewhere if you want a comfortable and reliable stay.
