The Ziba Hotel & Spa

Nice hotel with cozy rooms and a friendly service. Also the poolside is nice, even when there are too less places to relax. 2 things to criticize: Unfortunately they haven’t any rooms with balcony or terraces. It seems like the chef or the concept of the Ziba Bistro changed between 2019 and now. When I had really creative and unique dishes like chocolate tagliatelle with crabs or trout with caviar and fennel carpaccio back in the days, the menu is very regular and not fancy now. For me it is not the perfect combination between hotel and restaurant anymore.

When booking hotel they asked reason for stay - I said my mums 60th - was this the reason we were put in an accessible room?? Bathroom was large and clean but did not like all the accessible rails and the raised toilet seat! Room was basic, however bed was large and extremely comfortable! Housekeeping was ok - did not refill the tea bags though and milk wasn’t ever provided for our tea and coffee. When I went to reception to ask the young girl for milk she just said no. The following day I asked another girl who was extremely helpful and gave me a small bottle of milk. Breakfast was alright - eggs were not good - even when they were fresh. Pool was alright - pool bar extremely overpriced (€8 for 2 small cans of coke is ridiculous - didn’t even pay that on our day out to Venice) Spa was decent - although on our first day the sauna was cold and the hot tub was also cold.

Definitely not a 4* hotel as stated. More like a 3*. However a great location for Lake Garda and also as a base to explore other cities. The breakfast is basic but fresh however the restaurant and staff are fantastic. Paid for superior rooms but got the basic rooms and didn’t realise this until we left and hotel did not reimburse this. Also, beds had thin sheets on them and was not provided thicket duvets when asked but was given a throw - I had to use 3 of them because I get cold at night.
