Thera Mare

We were in love with hotel’s staff, especially Tasos who helped us with literally everything. First, he recommended us all the possible attractions and places to visit and we didn’t regret visiting any of them. Second, he helped us with every issue immediately. We could say lot more, but let’s say that every host should be like that!! As it goes about the hotel - of course it’s simple and modest one, but u got everything u need and more for a good price. There was a big pool, nice reception, small but nice rooms with big balconies - ours overlooked the whole sea and the beach panorama. We didn’t try breakfasts, but for sure they are good. The cleaning was done everyday and it was perfect! We will definitely come back

I recently stayed at Thera Mare Hotel in Perissa, Santorini, from July 7th to July 14th, 2025. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet the expectations set by the hotel’s 4-star rating. Several issues affected my stay, including plumbing problems that left me without running hot water for extended periods, poor room maintenance with visible mold-like stains in the bathroom, and noisy renovation work during daytime hours that made rest difficult. Additionally, the air conditioning unit on the balcony emitted excessive heat, making the space unusable. I also noted safety concerns such as an unsecured ladder near my room for multiple days and an open hole near the reception that was inadequately secured. Despite these problems, I tried to address them with the hotel staff, but most issues remained unresolved. I appreciate the staff’s efforts, including providing an electric kettle and coffee sachets, but the overall experience was disappointing. I have reported these matters to relevant consumer protection authorities to seek proper resolution. I hope this review helps future travelers make informed decisions.

We booked a premium room in a so called 4-star boutique hotel. What we eventually got (we weren't on the booking list when we arrived) could only be described as 2-star at an absolute push. The room is as basic as it comes, many of the advertised 'features' were missing & the shower was nothing more than a hose & head hanging from the wall with a flimsy curtain that clings to you at every opportunity. The pool is pretty good but bar is pointless, we used it once all week also the sunbeds are old & tatty the jacuzzi & sauna derelict & out of use. The view from the terrace is ½ built forgotten houses with rusty cement mixers to all 3 sides. The beach is advertised as a 400m walk. Add another 800m to that & you'll be a little closer to the mark. The staff were amazing & the place is very clean. But who ever took the photos & did the write up for this place deserves a Nobel prize for fiction!
