Therme 51

Where do I start…I loved every minute of my stay at Therme 51°. The staff are wonderful, warm and friendly and the rooms are bright, spotlessly clean, cosy and comfortable. The restaurant is delicious, seasonal and local. The breakfast was a highlight every day. The hotel and restaurant are 2min from the bus terminal and in a great central location to explore the village. The variety of spa facilities feel fresh and modern. These baths are quiet and personal, they remind me of Japanese onsen more than Swiss-style badis. I loved sitting in the “hot pot” of 46°C thermalwasser and watching the clouds fly over the mountains. Highly recommend Therme 51° to any visitor to Leukerbad, and recommend Leukerbad to anyone travelling in Switzerland. Can’t wait to return.

Went for the spa. Booked a 3 hour slot at 5:30, only to find out they close at 7:30. Still charged full price. Place is small but have a good number of saunas that are nice. Location is weird, downtown surrounded by people walking around and car parks.

Very bad experience with the old lady at the reception. I wanted to have access to the spa but first I needed some insight on how and what to do. She didn’t even take the time to explain me anything and was already telling me that without any reservations I can’t have access to anything. Ok fair enough. Then how can I do then ? She gave me a card and told me to sit and book online. The website being in German I asked her to help. she lost her patience with me and told me that she didn’t have time for me. Well, when your mindset is in trying to relax and going to a spa then it is very difficult to face someone communicating you her stress. I think she should have another position into this company and certainly not the spa reception.
