For the price and the "4-star", this hotel was a let down. Was expecting a LOT more. The interior is very dated, the simplicity makes the photos look better than it really is. The location is good and rooms were clean but that's about it.
This was a Mother and Daughter treat. Booked the package offer which included, double standard room, breakfast, bottle of bubbles and box of chocolates in the room. Plus room upgrade. Not cheap!! No room upgrade available on arrival. I had requested a twin room on my booking form. I recieved several emails before my arrival with offers of a room upgrade for a discounted price. No bottle of bubbles or chocolates in the room. After several phone call and visits to the reception. We final got the bottle of bubbles but they said they didn't have any chocolates available so as a substitute 3 sweets with a drizzle of chocolate on top to share. No complimentary water or fridge in the room. Breakfast was good and the location for us was great. It was the Package offer that encouraged me to stay at this hotel. Disappointing will not stay again. 😕
Thistle Trafalgar Square Review: Disappointing and Overrated My stay at Thistle Trafalgar Square, supposedly a 4-star hotel, was utterly disappointing. The noise was relentless—street sounds and thin walls made sleep impossible. The rooms are tiny, more like a budget hostel than a luxury hotel. For the exorbitant price, there’s zero value for money; London has far better options. Room service was a disaster. The menu boasts 24/7 pizza (see attached), but when I called at 10pm, I was told the kitchen was closed. When I pointed out the menu’s claim, a rude staff member called back to argue, saying, “I don’t know what you’re reading.” On another day, I managed to try the pizza—it was basically raw and disgusting, completely inedible. No complimentary water was provided in the rooms, a shocking omission for a hotel at this price point. Cleanliness was the only positive, but it’s not enough to salvage this overpriced, overhyped hotel. Save your money and choose better value elsewhere in London for better value and service.
