Thon Hotel Nordlys

Great rooms and very convenient location, but the highlight is definitely the absolutely magnificent breakfast. Very copius buffet with a range of options truly exceptional at this price point the quality of said options was equally amazing and would definitely come back mainly for the breakfast. The rooms themselves were great and clean but only had a window on the interior of the hotel. The staff was helpful.

Stayed with family room. Good position close to the sea. Friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast with many choices. Paid parking garage with charging boxes(3rd party), wasn’t able to set up charging for the car.

We stayed at Hotel Thon Svolvær before coming to the Thon Hotel in Bodø, expecting a similar level of quality across both properties—and in many ways, they were comparable. The staff at Thon Bodø were just as professional and friendly, and we appreciated the complimentary Nespresso machine at reception. Our room was clean, well-designed, and functional—very much in line with the high standards we’d come to expect from Thon. One of the main reasons we chose Thon Bodø was for the breakfast. We were told that Thon Lofoten and Thon Svolvær offer the same exceptional breakfast, so we assumed the same standard would apply here. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. The breakfast at Thon Bodø did not offer the same variety—there was no green salad, and the vegan and gluten-free options were noticeably limited. We feel that consistency in breakfast quality should be part of the Thon experience across all locations. It’s something guests come to rely on, and when it falls short, it’s disappointing—especially when it’s been a highlight at other Thon hotels. Overall, while our stay was pleasant, we do hope Thon considers standardizing their breakfast offerings across all properties to maintain the strong brand reputation they’ve built
