We popped in today for a delicious cream tea. We were served by Freya who only started here a month ago. She was so lovely and very friendly. We have been coming to The Thurlestone for many years and always love it here but Freya made it extra special for us today plus it was her Birthday. She is a real asset to the Hotel.
Only visited for a Spa Day wlth a cream tea, but everything about the hotel, the spa and the staff were great. The spa itself is beautifully presented, well Looked after with everything you need in a spa. The terrace with the views across to Hope Cove is stunning. We look forward to returning again.
Amazed at all the good reviews of this hotel. It is a lovely setting with wonderful grounds and a great view, and the staff and breakfast were excellent. However the room was dowdy and old fashioned, the double bed was two singles pushed together so very uncomfortable, the carpet was stained, and you have to clamber into the bath to use the shower! All of this for a shocking £400/night (which I foolishly thought would grant me a high quality experience). At half that or less, it would be forgivable but that's 5 star money for a dowdy guesthouse experience, at least as far as the room is concerned, the actual hotel and grounds are nice. Very disappointing
