This review won't be helping too much in today's time. But I went to Suzhou and stayed in this hotel for a few days 23 years ago. I still remembered how much I loved it. The entire hotel was so different than any hotel I've lived in. It's entirely classic Suzhou Garden themed. And it's extremely close to the famous 留园. Restaurants and food around there were really nice as well.
A great hotel right in the middle of some of the historic sites of suzhou. Luxury accommodation for b&b money. We paid 30 GBP per night for a suite. Walking distance from massive shopping mall and many MANY restaurants.
Pleasant service but not up to the standard of the other hotels in our China tour: 3* rooms, and limited breakfast items mainly geared to Chinese customers with very little 'international dishes'. Good though location wise for exploring Suzhou's canal ways in the evening with its 86 bridges and old residential buildings; which are beautifully lit up whilst taking an evening canal cruise.
