Stayed at Timbre to celebrate my milestone Birthday. The hotel is modern clean and spacious. We had a ground floor room with a patio area which was lovely to sit out in and have a glass or two. The staff were helpful and friendly. I was surprised with a complimentary bottle of bubbly on my birthday which was a lovely surprise and helped make my special day. The Hotel is ideally situated near a metro with a direct line to/from the Airport and was only €2.65. The centre of Porto was also just a 15min walk away. Good location and would definitely recommend this hotel as a base to explore the lovely city of Porto.
Very nice, comfortable and clean hotel. The rooms were modern and well equipped. The mattress was very comfortable and I loved how they had a twist they added another piece of glass to avoid the spilling of water in the shower area. We came back after dinner and wanted to catch up on the final minutes of the Portugal vs Spain game and we're treated very nicely by the bartender. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you want to stay near the train station.
Not really the service and quality I was expecting from a 4 star hotel. The whole floor smelled a little moldy. We had dirty sheets on arrival. An odd crusted stain on the grey bed cover. Stains on the chair, and a leaky toilet. The included breakfast had a lot of cheeses and cold meats. The eggs were cold even if they were supposed to be heated. Staff seemed busy and constantly preoccupied when compared to other hotels in Portugal on our trip. The outdoor area was nice to look at, but they oddly have only about 15 songs going around in a loop. We spent our first night outdoors having a dring, but when we'd heard Quincy Jones Soul Bossa Nova at least 10 times, we decided to spend our time outside of the hotel. When we left, my wife had a huge lump of dark mechanics grease which fell from the grey doors leading to the underground parking lot right down her neck. When she went back to the help desk, they had a hard time trying to find soap to wash the grease out. They apparently didn't have any soap left in the employee's toilets...
