The view from the hotel is stunning blue ocean horizon meeting the clear sky surrounded by gorgeous cliff and cave. The hotel actually was interestingly“built in vertically” where you would take the elevator down instead of up from the lobby. The location is only half a mile away from the beach/town with Tuck Tuck (open air) car service provided by the hotel on a regular interval. The staff team was attentive, warm and welcoming. The food in all the restaurants on site was delicious and fresh. Because the restaurants have open air arrangements, the temperature is a bit warm if you normally like it cold. The rooms were neat and clean. Overall, it is a fantastic hotel! 🏨
We stayed at this Tívoli location for a couple nights at the end of July and really enjoyed our experience! Starting with the positives: the view is UNMATCHED! Honestly made the whole experience, if you’re not selecting a sea side view, I’m not sure it would be worth it. I could have spent hours just staying out on the balcony looking at the cliffs. The location is great, just down the street from great restaurants and bars without feeling like you were in a super busy area (grounds feel incredibly peaceful and quiet). Pool was superbly located with cliff views, and pool service was easy to navigate, though pool seats fill quickly and you’ll have to get out early if you want a spot. I was charmed by the free ice cream that was given while we were out there, a nice touch! Other nice touches: welcome treats provided in the room, free drink ticket if you declined cleaning for the day. Mini bar/fridge snacks were not included, nor their breakfast set up I don’t believe which was a slight disappointment based on price point. Room was clean and sleek, neutral! Overall would go back and enjoyed the experience!
We stayed at the Tivoli Algarve in a Deluxe with Ocean View and Terrace for our honeymoon. It was the most expensive hotel we booked per night, on our trip throughout Portugal. It was the ONLY hotel we stayed at in Portugal that didn’t acknowledge our honeymoon in anyway, or our baby. (All our other hotels gifted baby a little stuffed animal and ourselves champagne and other treats). The rooms were gorgeous but the AC did not work our room and was 25 degrees throughout our stay and we woke up sweating. We did approach the front desk with this issue and they did not seem to care and the AC never did cool our room for our stay. We also arrived to our beds separated which I understand to be common throughout Europe, however every other hotel had them made together for our arrival. We were absolutely shocked the poor service at the pool, we had to ask multiple staff for drinks and service multiple times. The first day my husband had to walk to the bar 3x to ask for a beer before being severed, despite multiple servers walking around no one would stop to acknowledge us. On day 2 by the pool every server we flagged down did not speak English and had to get another server to help. It ended up being a very poor poolside service and we found it a bit difficult to communicate. We loved the location and the views were stunning. Shout out to Ricardo the door man he was absolutely impeccable and we really enjoyed running in to him from our first moment to the last!
