Togetsutei

Our stay at Togetsutei was one of the most meaningful experiences of our lives 💚 From the moment we checked in to when we walked out the doors we were taken care of. The room was breathtaking (and we got one of the more basic ones!), the bed was comfortable, and I daydream about the giant cypress bath every day. My fiancé and I both have tattoos so we had to book the private onsen, which was the best decision ever. It was such a relaxing and unique experience. And a cute kitty came and visited our window! I can't wait to come back!

Stayed here for one night in Room #14 after 4 days of too much hiking in central Kyoto. Togetsutei aged well with the surrounding and offer the service you would expect from any traditional Japanese ryokan. I booked well in advance via Agoda so I can’t remember what is included so we are quite pleased to find out breakfast is part of the package. The private outdoor onsen which is part of our room is unbeatable - always warm and ready for you to dip in. It helped us release all the pain from walking 30k+ steps over the past few days. Thank you again for the hospitality, we sure wish to be back in red leaves season some day, it must be beautiful around town in the fall.

Went here for a kaseiki lunch. The food was delicious, the service was great and the location was spectacular. They accommodated all our dietary needs including food allergies to sesame and fish
