Tonnara di Trabia

Enjoyed this hotel tremendously. Located in the quaint city of Trabia. A train station is nearby to take day trips to Cefalù or Palermo. The hotel has a little beach to hang out in. The breakfast comes with the stay and includes great coffee, pastries, fruit, scrambled eggs. Staff is very friendly, including the manager Angela. Note that the water in the room is not free of charge.

Don’t bother booking a suite but having a seaview is a bonus. I was given an incredibly old room on the lower level. Thankfully our request to have room changed was dealt with promptly. The outdoor area is beautiful but pity pool closes between 1-3pm. The most helpful staff were the girl and man at the pool bar but can’t really praise the service at the reception. Make sure all correspondence is on email as not to have any misunderstandings. We had some excellent pasta dishes at the restaurant for dinner if you don’t feel like going out. No taxis around but very easy to go by train to Palermo or Cefalù. There’s a nice man with tuk tuk outside hotel which would take you to central Trabia for €10. It’s just a 10 min uphill but we had a laugh. There’s a street market on Monday which is worth visiting and an excellent bakery across the hotel going up the stairs to Trabia

Stay FAR away from this horrible place !!! We had to cancel our reservation ( more than a month prior to our stay ) due to a cancer diagnosis and we were well within the cancellation period where there would be no charge. We received an email from the hotel stating our reservation had been cancelled free of charge as it was within the allowed cancellation period. Well a month and a half later they charged us anyway !!! Then they stated they were unable to refund our credit card but would refund us by bank transfer. It’s been days and they still have not refunded the money they stole from us. Horrible, horrible business. DO NOT LET THEM RIP YOU OFF - STAY FAR AWAY
