This was a unique, historic, and fantastic hotel!! It is in a great location, not just in terms of getting around the city, but also since it is a short 2 min walk (up or down steps) to get a taxi. We had a room with a terrace overlooking the city. The view was so wonderful we spent much of our time there, but the room itself was spacious and comfortable. Even if you don’t get a room with a terrace, there is a shared terrace also with a great view. The staff was friendly and helpful in every way possible. The breakfast had a nice variety of sweet and savory. It was a great value for an amazing experience. I would love to stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Matera.
Loved the hotel. I got a small room but they have other big ones. The service is excellent - everyone super friendly from the owner Roberto to Lucia and Irina. Walking distance to the main piazza. Would highly recommend.
Beautiful location but the bed in my bedroom had aunts and also had a strong humidity smell. Besides you can not open the big windows because the constant smell of cigarettes is very annoying. People smoke a lot.
