TravelRest Solent Gateway

I've used this hotel for many years as it has easy walking access into Fareham city centre and also the train station. There's a family pub next door with a good salad bar. Unfortunately, the friendly & helpful staff advised me that the Hotel is closing down in the near future and that it is being turned into flats. As a result there was no daily room cleaning during my stay. But otherwise everything was good.

Lovely hotel, perfect for our stay before sailing to France. Staff were absolutely lovely! Everything was clean n tidy. Loo didn't flush too well & bed was uncomfortable for my back & hips, but that would not deter me from returning. Breakfast was fab & served nice & hot. Highly recommend!

We needed a stop en route to Southampton docks after travelling from Yorkshire. This did the job as we needed somewhere to rest our weary heads. It was welcoming with a friendly receptionist and the room was cozy (if a little tired which would be expected if the so called housing development is taking over). It had a certain charm to it and was perfect for what we needed. If you are looking for a modern place with all the mod cons then you probably won't want to stay here but if you just need somewhere basic and friendly then this will suit your needs. Breakfast was a sausage butty and a coffee - perfect (but they do a full English etc as well). Sorry to hear this place is closing down, but glad we got the opportunity to stay for a night. Thanks👍👍❤️
