just got back from staying at Treacys last week. What a great hotel from the moment we got there to when we left. The staff and management looked after us so well. Our cases were taken straight to our rooms. Fabulous food and great service from all staff, well mannered and helpful nothing was too much trouble. We would highly recommend this hotel to stay at. Food was all freshly made and well presented really enjoyed it. Excellent xx Elaine xxx
Just back from a wonderful stay at this lovely place. Manager Annette (I think ,useless with names) was just lovely, arrived late and she came on to the coach and explained what was happening. All reception staff were just so friendly and polite. Bar area was clean and tidy. Food was excellent and plenty of it. Just all round a great place. Thank you so very much for your hospitality.
My family stayed here for one night during our holiday visiting family in Ireland. Plus: 1)location is very central, convenient to historic sites for sightseeing. Though the streets and city traffic layout seemed a bit sporadic, difficult to find safe spots to cross the roads, sometimes you need to simultaneously watch for 5 different directions before crossing. 2)We got good sized and clean bed. Areas for improvement: 1) the hotel is very worn and it seems that last renovation was 30+ years ago. We booked two rooms. First we were given two adjacent rooms on the first floor, the shower in one of the rooms didn’t drain at all. And our rooms were right above the bar/lounge on the ground floor, where a folk song festival was to be held till midnight. After talking to the reception, we were moved to second floor. Again, the bathtub in one of our rooms on the second floor leaks water and didn’t drain well either. At this point, we gave up, as the hotel management told us that they don’t have any additional rooms for us to change to. 2) the shower curtains in this hotel is made with some sort of thin fabric that clings to your body when you shower. And the shower water kept dripping outside the tub. because there was no fan and ventilation in the bathroom, the room smells moldy. the entire experience was so bad. Suggest the hotel management install some sort of glass shower door, and ventilation fan. 3) there is a burnt mark of an iron on the carpet in one of our rooms, the hotel management never bothered to replace the carpet. 4) the hotel is marked as 4 star, but it feels like a 2-star hotel at best. Cups in the bathroom are thin plastic. All furniture is dated and scratched. There is a burnt mark on the chair cushion. 5) the lighting in the bathroom cannot be switched off, as it is motion sensored. the only way to turn it off is to close the bathroom door. Please stay away from this hotel.
