Just wanted to start off by saying - I never usually write bad reviews, but this experience was disappointing enough that I felt it needed to be shared. We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights and were disappointed from the start. Upon arrival, we had to call an Australian number from our NZ phone (as reception is closed Sundays) and give our credit card details over the phone just to receive the safe code for check-in. The apartment was noticeably unclean—dust everywhere, visible cleaning streaks on the walls, and mould in the bathroom corners, including the shower. A heart shape was etched into the bathroom mirror, clearly showing it hadn’t been cleaned properly. We found dried food on plates and had to wash all the dishes ourselves. The dishwasher had a strong unpleasant smell. The handbook stated that the room would be serviced every 5 days for longer stays, but reception informed us it was actually every 7 days. They offered to clean it during our stay as "compensation," but that’s not compensation when the handbook promises more. On day 5, we ran out of the 1.5 rolls of toilet paper provided. When I requested more, the receptionist initially said they usually charge for extra supplies, despite the handbook stating to ask if anything is needed. We were eventually given more due to our prior complaint. The spa pool wouldn’t heat up no matter how long we stayed in it. The gym was extremely small and had no lighting, so it couldn’t be used at night. On top of that, the bed was very uncomfortable and made it difficult to get a proper night’s sleep. The only redeeming feature of our stay was the location—just a short walk from the heart of Surfers Paradise, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and the beach.
