We stayed at Trivelle’s Hotel because we were looking for a budget-friendly option close to Gatwick, and that’s exactly what we got. It’s a very no-frills place – the rooms are basic and the carpets weren’t properly fitted, with some noticeable lumps on the floor. That said, the beds were comfortable, and the linen was spotless and crisp white, which made for a decent night’s sleep. A big shoutout to the gentleman at the front desk, who was extremely kind, polite, and helpful – definitely one of the highlights of our stay. Do be cautious with transportation though – while the hotel is only about 6 miles from the airport, our taxi cost £50, which came as a surprise. In hindsight, we might have been better off booking a hotel directly at Gatwick once you factor in the extra cost. Still, for what we paid, it was good value – hence the five stars. Just know what you’re signing up for, and it does the job.
Great Hotel, well priced, good breakfast and Nas the manager is the man! The staff are all friendly. It’s a safe stay. While it is an older hotel the rooms and property have everything you need. It’s also very clean. If I’m ever in the area again I will book again
I strongly advise future guests to think twice before booking this place. When we arrived, the first room we were given had a nest of bugs inside the ceiling lamp, along with spider webs and clear signs of poor hygiene. We asked to be moved, and while the second room looked slightly better at first, it had spider webs and the same type of bugs, only more scattered, some were crawling on the walls, others on the bathroom floor, and even across the carpet. Because of the carpet’s pattern, they were hard to notice, which made it even more unsettling to stay there, knowing they could be anywhere. We didn’t feel safe or comfortable staying there and decided to leave early. Staff on-site were unprofessional, one ignored us completely and locked himself in a room. We were told over the phone that we could leave and would be refunded within 3–4 working days, but the refund never came. Now, they’re refusing to take responsibility. They are not willing to refund even when guests choose to leave due to the lack of cleanliness and hygiene, which is unacceptable for any accommodation. I have photo evidence of the bugs and screenshots of my communication with the hotel (shared through Booking), but unfortunately, Google doesn’t seem to allow them to be shown directly here. If anyone needs proof, I’d be happy to share. Stay here at your own risk.
