Tru By Hilton

When a hospitality professional goes that extra mile for someone not staying at their property, you want to give a hug! But five stars and a warm review will do. Frankly, we couldn't afford the rate at Tru/Hilton, much as we loved the vibe. At 2a.m. on a Friday morning, the desk manager got on the phone to a nearby hotel and found us a place to rest our heads. Thank you!!

Absolutely amazing staff, so kind and attentive. The rooms were spotless and had plenty of space. Aldi is right across the street and you can hop on Galena and get pretty much anywhere in Dixon fairly quickly, great location! The breakfast was great for a smaller hotel, and overall the facility itself was incredibly clean and welcoming. Will absolutely be staying here again!! Brittany at the front desk was so kind during our stay, I hope the next time will be just as good!

Overall, this stay was a good experience with a comfortable bed in a very clean room with a nice shower. The continental breakfast served 7 am-10 am had slim pickings by the time we got to breakfast a little before 9 am. The pancake machine is a fun idea that was totally ruined by the woman running the breakfast bar when she refused to change the empty bag of batter. Several people asked for help and she begrudgingly opened the lid, patted the empty bag and started the machine again as if that was all that was necessary for the machine to produce more pancakes. She did this numerous times knowing that the bag was empty and that she wasn't about to change it. If you offer a continental breakfast, you should be prepared to feed every guest a reasonable breakfast during the entire breakfast time frame. This hotel was on the verge of earning a 5-star review from me until the breakfast.
