TRYP by Wyndham New Taipei Linkou

The room is really pretty. Huge size of room. Definitely excel 3 stars hotel. Just cross the road from MRT. We stopped here before heading to the airport. The bathroom uses high tech glass. Love it!!! The only problem is no way to turn off the lights for the mirror...... Hope they fix that.

I have another photo that showed a plaque with information of the franchise holder - not here now, please do not selectively remove my photos. Google should only remove photos that are not genuine. My review is an authentic review of recent stay! Saw some good reviews here, thought it would be a great hotel to stay. However, upon checking in, we were totally taken aback ! The hotel has a big restaurant, but the hotel lobby was miserably tiny. Despite being a new hotel (that's what some of the reviewers said - we found some of the fixtures like toilet accessories looking pretty aged- which made me wonder if some of the reviews here were fake or paid to do so). Toilet walls were stained and tainted with cement. The lobby settee was broken. We checked in rather late , the solo female receptionist was rather brisk and did not make us feel welcome at all. Booked 2 rooms and had requested for adjacent rooms, but was assigned rooms on separate floors! This showed total disrespect for guests' requests. Had asked for quiet rooms on a higher floor , but was instead given rooms on 4th floor which is on the same level as the MRT rail track- we were disturbed considerably by the noise of the frequent passing trains day and night - THE INCCESSANT NOISE IS THE CRITICAL POINT TO CONSIDER FOR PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS! It appeared that all rooms in this hotel are facing the rail track! The hotel does not supply any amenities at all in the rooms ! The booking site only cited no toothbrush and tooth paste will be supplied- but we found that no room slippers, which is a standard in Taiwan hotel, were supplied. Any amenities must be purchased at the reception at TWD100! Rooms were big but poorly designed- the shower and bath area was big , but the wash basin was located in the bedroom next to the TV, not in the bathroom. The separate toilet has a ramp of about 2 inch height at the entrance, which may pose a tripping risk - totally unnecessary for a toilet! The large space in the room was not designed to be a work area or coffee area with chairs , but was instead is occupied by a large rocking chair - absolutely awful arrangement! The balcony is a total waste of space, it opens onto a view of the railway track! The hotel could spend the financial resources to improve the sound proofing of the guest rooms. Overall- not worth the price , as the room charge was high . Poor value , uncomfortable stay, poor service, surrounding areas uninteresting. This hotel is a franchise business, perhaps Wyndham International should look at the quality and management of this joint to ensure its up to Tryp's standards. Absolutely will not recommend this place , stay away!

Very noisy hotel facing railway line. Bad service from receptionist. No amenities given - have to be purchased. Very poor value for money.
