Tuckers Retreat

Whilst we enjoyed our stay there were a few points that could be improved on for the price paid. Spa was very outdated and not every function worked, was cloudy and dirt was visible when the bubbles were activated. Internet was dismal, no dvd player as advertised. Noise from the road right next to our tent 😕 The nicest part was that no one was in the tent next to us, no real privacy as advertised. Won’t be returning at the pricing does not reflect what you expect as far as a romantic, private retreat.

My partner booked for 3 nights for a surprise birthday present. We both found our stay quite less than we expected for the price. Room was very outdated with size of the TV, Bed was uncomfortable and sunk in the middle, attention to detail and presentation of the outdoor furniture, Spa was dirty with sand on the bottom also dirt and grime with the jets not working properly and lights not turning on. Heater was too small for the area of the room and power turned off randomly and left us freezing. Zippers were broken and hard to operate, 1 roll of toilet paper, Hand wash dispenser was faulty, Dog barking all night, Bed side tables were unstable and too small, Torch that was supplied was tiny and was something for a child to use. This place is in need of major maintenance and updating. ☹️

They charged the full amount immediately and when we had to cancel, they refused to honour the fee and return the remainder of the money they had already taken. The terms were they take the first night's fee and charge the remainder on arrival. They charge you $319 if you cancel. It's all in writing and they are refusing to return the money, so Booking.com is managing the complaint and we are going to Fair Trade. This doesn't even touch on the greed. They fully rebooked our stay yet they think they are keeping the full amount. @Booking.com said they will be formalising a complaint and ensuring a refund. We've just confirmed they are in breach of the Agreement and must fully refund us, yet they are still refusing. We would have paid the cancellation fee, but they thought they could have the $319 fee plus the full accommodation fee. Just wow! Thankfully booking.com is legitimate. Tuckers Retreat clearly needs help to understand their own terms and conditions. What's occurred is a #FraudulentTransaction and they are not aware what that means for them just yet.
