Tulip Inn Franeker

This hotel is a great place to stay for young and old. Very friendly people who try to make you happy. Food and drinks in a good ratio. Always welcomed with a glass of wine (which you don't often experience anymore). I hope we can come there often...

A weekend in Friesland was combined with an overnight stay at De Valk in Franeker. Unfortunately, this overnight stay was not one of the highlights of these days. First of all, the hotel looked dated, we apparently did not belong to the target group and the desk clerk referred us to a room deep in the labyrinth, which she called the hotel. An unpleasant surprise awaited us in the room. The bathroom was far from clean: deposits everywhere, a dirty bath and not to mention the sperm hairdryer debacle. The room was quite warm, but otherwise okay. In the morning at breakfast there was a limited amount of food waiting, consisting of leftovers from the past three months. The leftover sugar was stuck to the jar and the sugar loaf was probably expired. All in all, at some point we saw the fun in it and it was ultimately a successful weekend.

I went there two years ago. I hated it. I think it used to be a retirement home; the strings were still hanging. Little was done afterward. Dirty bathroom and hot room. Depressing and gloomy atmosphere. Breakfast was okay, though.
