Just located on the outside of the wall so an easy bus ride in on, hmmm, might be the 90 or the 2, can't remember now. A fairly easy walk but I walk alot so 20mins to 30 mins is no bother to get to ruins. There's a couple of nice restaurants in the area, particularly in the road around the corner. Trees outside window were pleasant but gets busy early outside so traffic noise as crossing junction up by the wall just up the road. Staff at checking in were functional. Not much comment or concern for my friend who had taken a tumble on the terrible state of the missing cobblestones close to Trefi fountain during our stay either but probably due to language barrier, so be careful folks, streets are a lot worse than when I last visited, around 10 years ago. Her face was black and blue with dressings as well. Our beds were small but that's how they are in Italy if having a twin room. They tried to leave it until the following morning but we didn't want to sleep in a double bed together so they did come and change it. Breakfast was all self service and was small but nice, cheeses and hams, nice rolls, yogurt, cereals and some warm items, that we didn't eat but egg I think. Plus nice little tarts and cakes/pastries. A self service coffee machine and hot water for tea. Extra blankets in room which I needed. Enough space for sleeping and getting ready, what else do you need of a room. Bathroom had a massive leak on last night that staff gave us towels to mop up with but no service to room to help. I felt like I got bite on leg on first night, my ankle, 3 times and when I was up in the morning, I couldn't see anything in my bed but I had 3 little bits of blood on my ankle so who knows....I didn't mention it to staff. It only happened one night. I'd choose a higher star next time, I think this was a 3 or 4?
Stayed here for 3 nights in August. 2 rooms booked, 1 single which was the tiniest room (expected) and a twin which was kinda small too but ok. Both were advertised as having air conditioning but only the twin did which left the single with an ineffectual fan which just moved hot air around. Breakfast was edible, an unusual vegetable choice for breakfast but this seems to be standard on our trip around Italy but pastries and good coffee were plentiful. Shout out for the bathroom in the twin room which had the grottiest shower and shower curtain I've seen in years, at some point it has been a shower enclosure and when it's broken they've flung up a curtain on the remnants but seem to not change or wash it.
Stayed hotel turner in 2012, a friend's 50th. Hotel acceptable, just. Not to my taste, very gold and heavy drapes. Room was clean. Breakfast ok, nothing special. The local area was dingy & grotty, lots of litter everywhere. I have never seen as many cars & mopeds in one small area. I found Italian people I spoke to were mildly rude & dismissive. The buildings are impressive, would I go back...never have, never will 🤷
