Overall, the hotel is decent, but it’s definitely not a five-star experience. The mismatch becomes especially obvious because the high status is mentioned to a ridiculous extent - it’s in the Wi-Fi name, every brochure, and every receipt. I’d guess the hotel was quite good in its prime, but those days are clearly over. There are obvious signs of cost-cutting in service, and the place is badly in need of renovation. Below is a list of issues we encountered during our week-long stay. On the positive side: it’s close to the beach, the rooms are spacious, the mattress is comfortable, and the breakfast is tasty and varied. - Hole in the wall - Mold on the bathroom ceiling - Sewage smell coming from the shower drain - One of the saunas was out of order - A missing decorative element exposes a chunk of bare concrete wall - The towel warmer is old, poorly maintained, noisy, and doesn’t heat at the top - Overpriced pastries and coffee at the rooftop café despite being ok for such a place
Rooms are nice and pools are great for children. Overshadowed by very bad organization and service. Waiters don't speak English and getting a piece of cake in the rooftop bar takes forever, if even possible. Some events didn't happen although scheduled, e g. the waiting families were not even informed that the DJ for the children's disco was unavailable. Location is too far away from Kołobrzeg to walk with children and gastro is not really available around the hotels.
Our recent experience at Hotel Marina in Kołobrzeg left us with mixed feelings. Just a week ago, my husband and I stayed at this beautiful hotel by the sea. We arrived without an online reservation, and the kind receptionist offered us a lovely room with a sea view at a price even lower than online rates — which we truly appreciated. Because of that positive experience, my husband returned to the hotel this week, this time with our 9-year-old son. They were tired after a long journey and didn’t check prices online, trusting the warm welcome we had received earlier. However, this time the situation was very different. At check-in, they were charged 600 PLN for a night with breakfast — much higher than our previous stay (418 PLN for two adults), and even higher than the current official online price, which is 116 EUR (approx. 494 PLN) for a high-category room. When asked about this difference, the receptionist gave unclear explanations and didn’t offer any proper justification or transparency. The issue is not about the price difference itself, but the way returning guests were treated. No greeting, no appreciation for choosing the hotel again — just a surprisingly high rate and no visible price list at the desk. It was disappointing, especially when online rates are clearly much lower and no effort was made to clarify or resolve the situation kindly. We really wanted to keep this place in our hearts as a special memory, but sadly, this visit left us disappointed.
