As we are departing, reflecting on a very nice week at Unico. This was the 2nd week of the soft opening, so at 40% capacity it seemed as if we had the resort to ourselves. We are members of Legendary Vacation Club, so we had free transportation to & from the airport. Fantastic private taxi, traffic is very heavy. There are 2 pools, one for members and one very large one for everyone. But, the rooftop is the gem! Enjoyed the whirlpools up top, the view & lunch, not to mention a mojito or 2. Rosa was our bartender and attended to our drinks & lunch. Lovely Lady! Rooms are very nice. For a couple, very spacious. Bed was very comfortable. Patio couch was a nice size for lounging & after cleaning the jetted tub myself (just because its something I do) had a relaxing salt bath. Food was good all around. 3 restaurants, no buffet. Italian (breakfast too), Mexican, didn't do dinner here, but lunch was fantastic, Daniel & Angel provided outstanding service & Japanese, converted my Husband to liking Japanese food and room service. Also enjoyed the coffee shop, Angel was a super friendly Barista, saw him daily. The beach is the best so far we have encountered in Mexico for swimming and relaxing. Not blue, but warm and relaxing waves with no undertow. Had plenty of loungers, at the beach & pools. Service was very attentive, Felix and Angel...look for these guys. Lastly, Anel & Dante were our hosts. Enjoyed chatting with them, they were very attentive to what we needed, reservations for restaurants & excursions, transportation, recommended areas outside of the resort. Overall, we had a wonderful time. Loved the resort, not close to PV city center, no crowds and if you are coming this way, I highly recommend!
This is a newer resort in the area so I wasn’t expecting too much. But I am surprisingly surprised with how awesome this resort is. A few really high pros: 1) The staff are like your friends. They really are friendly and really care. I can’t remember all the names but here’s a few I can remember: - Patricia from rooftop. Extremely helpful and went looking for us because she thought we lost our sunglasses. - Paul “Pablo” and Dario, the 2 bartenders near the lobby. Awesome guys made me comfortable. - Angel and German from the pool bartenders. Helped me figure out the area and recommended places to watch UFC. - Victor from the beach and outdoor lounge, awesome guy. Helped with keeping out stuff safe and gave a lot of great tips and advice in PV. - Fatima from Lia is a great server/hostess. - We also loved the habachi chef that served us. I can’t remember his name though. - Lastly, our host Angel was great and took really good care of us, even for small things. 2) The restaurants, although there are no buffets, are excellent. The food is superior quality. The chefs really know how to cook great meals in all of the restaurants. 3) It’s really clean. Everything is clean in this resort. It’s hard to find something dirty, you’d really have to look for it. 4) The beach and ocean view is perfect. All rooms have an ocean view. You don’t need a card or anything to ‘reserve towels’ or chairs. There plenty enough for everyone. It’s like they added “more than enough” of everything so that every single guest can enjoy without hassle. 5) Lastly, I think the vibe is great. Everybody gets along with everybody. I didn’t see any rude guests, any hostility or any negatives. It’s also not a strong “party” vibe but it’s a mixed of only good vibes. Some like to sing and dance while it doesn’t bother the people who just like to sit and chill like me. For cons, I think I can only list 2 things. But remember, my likes/dislikes may be different than yours. I personally like a buffet because it’s easy access getting food. This restaurant has all you can eat a La carte, but no walk in buffet. Checking in is a bit slow. After a long flight and drive, I just want to get my bags into the room and take a nap. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and have made great memories here. We celebrated our 10 year anniversary and would come back for our 25th year. The people who work here are awesome.
We’ve stayed at Unico 2087 before and absolutely loved it, so we were excited to try Unico 10 105. While the new property has a lot of potential, it’s just not on the same level—yet. First, the service is absolutely incredible. Every staff member we encountered was warm, helpful, and went out of their way to make our stay special. The people here are truly the best part of this resort. That said, there are some issues that need to be worked on. We stayed for 5 nights and received a $1000 resort credit—but you’re charged a 35% service fee on every dollar used. On top of that, the prices for spa and other services are already extremely inflated. A 50-minute couples massage is $438, meaning you’re still paying over $150 cash even after the credit. During our massage, there was also loud hammering and construction noise, which really killed the vibe. Our room smelled like paint and construction materials for the first 24 hours, which wasn’t pleasant either. The food is hit or miss. The Italian restaurant, Lia, was great. The Mexican restaurant felt underwhelming, and the Japanese restaurant was good except for the seafood. They use farmed salmon and what looked like fake, dyed tuna—not ideal when you’re this close to the ocean. Again, the staff is outstanding and the facilities are immaculate. The resort is still very new, and there’s a lot of opportunity to improve. We’ll stick with Unico 2087 for now.
