Union Victoria Motel

The hotel is a family run business. Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Whilst the rooms are slightly dated. The beds were super comfy. And the rooms were very clean as we booked #1 #2 #3 had everything you needed for your stay and was in good walkie distant to the shops etc. At night rooms were warm and cosy. Yes we all found this hotel location location and more. We were very grateful to the owner who was very accommodating to our needs. Thank you Yu.

It's a run down old motel. It needs a major revamp. The pool isn't maintained. They just get away with it because of the shortage of accommodation in Rotorua. The Hotel Inspector would have a fielday here. The bed is comfortable and the sheets and towels are clean.

Avoid !!! Property neglected and run down. This is not a post to state that it wasn't acceptable, more to say that the lack of obvious negligence was obvious. Cleaniness, safety and hygiene are non-existent I'm surprised this place hasn't been shut down. As things have required replacing no thought out process has been applied. Rooms are oddly fitted out with little to no cleaning done at all. Worst, was that during our stay, it sounded as though other guests were having a domestic argument at 2am in the morning. I supposed that's what you get when the whole city is booked over a long weekend and guests are left to fill spaces where also emergency housing has been allocated to local residents. Not a great reflection on the city, and disappointed the owner is allowing local residents to stay and act in this manner. Poor service! Avoid where possible. The cost is not justifiable!
