Urban Hip Hotels The Vic

Very nice stay. It is a beautiful building, although clearly very old. Here and there a few aspects of the building needs to berepaired, yet, everything is impeccably neat and tidy. The decor inside is neat and trendy. The staff are friendly. The moment you walk in, they make you feel welcome and they treated me very well. Breakfast was basic, but well prepared. I had dinner at the hotel a few nights and each time it was brilliant. You really must have dinner here. The chef takes care to make the meal special. Not all the rooms have fridges, but there is a communal fridge available. There are many places to go to very close to the hotel too.

My husband and I slept over in the Ramsay room. Very clean. Comfortable king bed! Shower was cold though. We were told to wait until it gets warm, but feeling sticky from a long drive, we could not wait and had a cold shower the evening. We were woken early morning from noise coming from the adjacent room at 5am! Apparently the walls are very thin and we could hear the conversation of the family in the adjacent room! Very helpful staff. The place is ok if you just want to sleep over for the night!

I have never seen such an ugly boutique Hotel, i still do not understand why they would rate it a 4 star Hotel. I am not sure if the person who was rating it understood the assignment (why would you rate a half of star "lodge " a 4 start it does not make sense. We had loadshedding and there was no backup generator and water outage. Everything is just bad, i would never ever recommend it to anyone. It's way too expensive for a 4 star Hotel that does not even have enough guest emenities. It's called a Hotel but you get a lodge service with no breakfast included on the booking. You just like you are in a ghost town.
