URH Ciutat de Mataró

We are staying here now and the funny thing is the lobby, the elevator and halls to the rooms are quite impressive, but then you walk into the room and it’s shabby. I like the wooden floors and everything is clean, but some things really need changing. I wouldn’t think it would cost much to change the curtains, paint the ceiling, get rid of the wallpaper, redo the wooden floors and change the worn out upholstered chair or just get rid of it. If you did those things you could probably charge close to $200 a night instead of $124! The location is excellent, close to the beach, restaurants and shopping and the breakfast buffet is really good. If you make these changes I would come back. Btw, quit making it look like you have a pool! I asked at the reception desk and they said NO.

This hotel is most definitely NOT a 4 star hotel. It is at best 3 ( but this does a great disservice to a number of excellent 3 star hotels we have stayed in) and at best 2 stars. Apart from the fact that it is decoratively very, very tired, the towels in our room had holes in them as did the blanket on the bed. The reading lights were both hanging off the wall. The floor was badly scratched and ceiling above the shower was blistered and mouldy. The only redeeming factors was parking under the hotel and the front desk person who was very helpful. We will never return and suggest anyone considering doing so doesn’t.

Absolute garbage of a hotel no parking lot most of the time youll get your car window smashed and robbed besides that this hotel is not even close to being 4 stars more like 1-2 stars
