Charming hotel in an extraordinary location, literally steps away from the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace. Friendly and attentive staff provided excellent service and top tips for enjoying the center of Istanbul. Lovely breakfast served on the top floor with a panoramic view of the city and sea. Easy walking distance to numerous restaurants, shops and markets. Highly recommended.

The location and views at Hotel Valide Sultan were undeniably beautiful. The hotel itself was decent and clean, and we were initially looking forward to our stay. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by the parking situation, which felt deceptive and frustrating. Despite advertising that parking is available, we were directed to a nearby otopark and forced to pay out of pocket. Later, we were told to move the car and park in a specific area, which ended up requiring additional payment as well. It felt like a bait-and-switch, and left us with the impression that they were more interested in squeezing extra money out of us than providing honest service. It's disappointing, especially given how promising the hotel is otherwise. Be cautious if you're driving, parking is absolutely not as advertised.
