A beautifully designed hotel with exceptional service!! Valverde Lisboa Hotel is a true gem. From the moment we arrived, the service stood out. The manager, Ivan, was professional, thoughtful, and incredibly accommodating. Every member of the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They were warm, attentive, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The design of the hotel is exceptional. Every detail in the room felt carefully considered, from the non-slip stone floor in the shower to the smart layout around the sink with a well-placed mirror, a wall-mounted magnifying mirror, and plenty of shelf space to keep the vanity clear. There was also more than enough storage, with two large cupboards and lots of room for clothing and luggage. The furniture was high quality, and the overall finish and craftsmanship were impressive. The room had a peaceful energy and felt like a place you could truly relax. Fast, stable Wi-Fi was a plus. Breakfast is served in the garden, which is lush, calming, and beautifully designed. It’s a great place to start your day or even get some work done. The food was very good, and the service was excellent. They handled allergies in our group with care, offering gluten-free and lactose-free options without any issue. Their gluten-free bread was some of the best we’ve had. It would be nice to see a bit more variety on the breakfast menu, but overall, it was a lovely experience. There are a few areas for improvement.. The room key tag had the room number printed on it, which isn’t safe if the key is lost. The air conditioning felt a bit off. Even when set to 24 degrees, the room remained too cold and humid, which didn’t match the weather outside. It’s worth having the system checked. The blackout curtain worked well, but it ran on a cable system that was hard to open and close. The toilet paper was scented, which isn’t ideal. Unscented would be a better choice. If your room faces the back alley, you may hear garbage collection at night. Light sleepers should ask for a room facing the garden or front. Even with these small issues, the stay was outstanding!! The atmosphere was so calm, and relaxing, the food was excellent, and the staff truly made it feel like a special experience. We also had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant and highly recommend it. Thank you again to Ivan and the entire team. We would absolutely come back and recommend Valverde to our friends and family.🙏🏼🙏🏼
A beautiful old styled hotel. My room was well equipped with free water and espresso coffee. Air conditioning. The garden restaurant area is lovely. Attentive and helpful staff throughout the venue. A highly recommended hotel
We stayed here for 8 nights with our young daughter and compared to other RC hotels, this was a bit of a letdown. The hotel itself is in a great location and well furnished. Our suite was lovely and luxurious. However our bathtub leaked the second night. Our biggest frustration at this hotel was the service. Our room wasn't cleaned one day after being out for over 4hrs, and when trying to ask for new towels, the housekeeping person didn't understand English (fair enough in Portugal) and also couldn't understand our miming/Google translate for towels. The breakfast service team is a mix bag of characters, each one colder than the last. There was a singular waiter who offered menus, explanations, and made an effort to serve us without seeming they would be happier anywhere else. The concierge and front desk, while greeting us daily in a friendly manner, soured that upon checkout. We had booked a tour service through the hotel, and while it seemed everything was explained to us at the time, a key detail that the price is different between cash and credit card was only unveiled to us when we were checking out which was very shady (credit card is more expensive, so best have cash). Additionally, we were diligent in not exceeding the allotted time for the tour, but yet again we were informed during checkout, not on the day of the tour, that an additional hour was being charged. Upon challenging this, the friendliness and understanding of the front desk person evaporated, and begrudgingly they didn't scam us. Great hotel, poor service.
