Van Der Valk Hotel Cuijk Nijmegen

From Reception until the restaurant, the staff is friendly. Food is good. Especially like the chicken skewer and porkschnitzel. Accompanied with french fries, mayonaise and apple sauce. Prices of the food is not too expensive. I'd recommend this hotel for a stay in a quiet setting.

Very clean hotel, large but convenient with certain ambience. Excellent breakfast. Great for a short stop in journey, best in neighbourhood if you have to stay for longer in buisness.

We only went there to eat and didn't stay the night. Their restaurant is open for non hotel guests as well. We were lucky with the weather so we could sit outside (I didn't even see the inside...). Outside is absolutely amazing though. The view is of a small pond. The terrace is spacious and tidy. There is a smokers section, outside, and the rest is non smoking. The food: My wife had a steak and I took sate (Indonesian / Dutch dish with cubed and fried chicken breast on a wooden skewer doused in a peanut sauce). Both dishes were excellent. Staff was young, happy, vibrant, and professional. You didn't really have to call them for EG a second drink, they'd notice. Van der Valk is known in The Netherlands as a place people go to eat a decent meal for a decent price. It's not a Michellene star restaurant not hotel. Decor is fine, but not high end. Food is excellent, but not high end. And so forth. You don't go to this place for an evening of fine dining, you go to this place if you mind your wallet and want the absolute most for your buck. If those are your expectations, van der Valk is a great place.
