The hotel itself is very welcoming, comfy rooms and the breakfast was outstanding with good selections. 10 minute taxi into town. The hotel also has a good selection of munchies, just in case you get hungry during the night.
If you’re driving a car on the highway this is probably the perfect location. We came by bicycle from Belgium and had a long trip. By the time we arrived, we didn’t get to see the town and the hotel is a little bit out of the center. But the service was excellentand our room was very nice.
This is the second Van der Valk restaurant that I have been to and unfortunately the experience was equally disappointing. I really don’t understand how this is considered a restaurant in a 4 star hotel. First thing wrong when we arrived, the restaurant did not have a wine menu, god knows why. The waitress was nice and polite, but after waiting so long for our food the waiter arrived with the wrong order from 6 people of our group. We had a little child of 3 years old with us who waited even longer for her spaghetti bolognese. The dish that was served wrong was the Tournedos and this was a small piece of meat presented with a small amount of diverse vegetables which looked depressing and some fries on the side. Overall it is not worth the price.
