Van Der Valk Hotel Wieringermeer

Arrived in the middle of the night, without booking. Had trouble with my car. No problem to get a room. Staff is very helpfull and nice. The even loaded my phone. Forgot my charger at home Great room and breakfast. 👍♥️

On our way to Friesland we stepped by here for a lunch. The atmosphere is nice cosy. Nice decorations and clean. The service in the restaurant is okay and the quality of the food is good. One small remark: when customers ask something about how specific food is prepared, make sure that also new staff is trained and knowledgeable. Didn’t affect our satisfaction. Van der Valk delivers good food and experiences for an attractive price. René and Menekşe.

Friend and I wanted to stop by after getting stranded from taking the wrong bus. Despite asking nicely to use the toilet we were denied entry and directed to the gasstation. Afterward when we got back to the premises, we were swarmed by these tiny little black insects, they were everywhere. We then politely asked if we could stay inside next to the entrance of the building for a small 10 minutes, which was also denied. After a couple minutes we were told to leave the premises entirely, despite not doing anything. My friend and I were pretty offended because even though we weren’t staying at the motel, we and everyone else deserves the same amount of respect. I especially was visibly disappointed to which I threw up my hands. The guy that escorted us away (who was also the receptionist) then proceeded to tell me that he could cuss me out and beat me to a pulp if he wanted to, since we were then standing outside of the motel grounds. Me being 17 years old and him being around I’m guessing 30 years old made me feel very very vulnerable, scared and uncomfortable. I understand that what I did wasn’t the smartest, but threatening to cuss me out and beat me up? As the receptionist, face of the motel, responsible adult? Very very unprofessional and irresponsible. My friend even tried to explain our situation, us having a very long and tiring day, and as reply he said that she needed to shut up! We could not believe our ears. Treating kids like this? Astounding. I highly recommend not coming to this place unless you want to get denied entry and threatened by the receptionist.
