Stayed here for the new year. It was fantastic, everything: the service, the cleanliness, the fireplace, the nature and surrounding, very fluffy towels, the breakfast! The olive trees and cork oak garden is very beautiful. Very close to Monasterio de Yuste and beautiful village Garganta de la Olla. Thank you!

Peace and tranquillity prevail here at Vaqueria CantaElGallo. Nestled in amongst olive groves and completely off the beaten track this house is so secluded it is almost impossible to find even though it is conveniently located close enough to the village of Jaraiz de la Vera for all of its bars and restaurants. If you want to feel like you got away from it all this is the place! We are a family of five and we were really comfortable in Vaqueria. It’s a beautiful house with 3 bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms. I think the house would be better for a family with older children as one of the bedrooms is on the ground floor of the house but with a separate entrance. Perfect for parents who want a bit of their own space. There are other smaller cottages on the same land but tucked away so everyone’s space feels very private. We had a well equipped kitchen with homemade olive oil and home grown tomatoes and a huge living room area in the house as well as lots of out door space. An outdoor dining area looked over the pool and hammocks hung for people just wanting to chill and read a book. Everything has been chosen with a keen eye for interior design and the owner has a real eye for detail. It’s very safe for children, mine were 6, 8 and 10 at the time and I felt very relaxed. There are even some resident donkeys towards the back of the land and our children were able to help look after the donkeys, ride and feed them. The gardens that surround the house are a lush green and are immaculately looked after. An intimate buffet breakfast is served outside on a beautiful patio under the shade of trees on elegant white table cloths with homemade jams, freshly baked cakes or churro collected from the local village bakery and all washed down with hot coffee and tea. The beds are made daily as is the house cleaned. The house was completely spotless. What we liked about it was that you feel like you have all the luxuries and comforts of a hotel with the intimacy of staying in a beautiful villa. The house is surrounded by beautiful countryside and we really enjoyed bathing in the crystal clear rivers nearby. But ‘ssssssshhh' don’t tell too many people as this place is heavenly.

This small hotel is a true gem. The property has beautiful furnishings, peaceful setting, and an incredible attention to detail. Owner, Soledad has created an amazing property filled with charm and grace.
