I had an amazing stay at this hotel. The atmosphere was incredibly peaceful and quiet — perfect for anyone looking to relax and unwind. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, always ready to help with a smile. Breakfast was delicious with a great variety, and I truly appreciated the quality and freshness of the food each morning. What really stood out to me were the activities. Everything was thoughtfully organized with great attention to detail. I enjoyed trying out Muay Thai, indoor rock climbing, and even the free driving experience. Each activity had knowledgeable and caring instructors who made the experience fun and safe. The instructors were especially impressive — kind, patient, and truly passionate about teaching. I felt like every moment spent here was well worth it. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with excellent service and engaging activities. I can’t wait to come back!

This resort is a total complete GEM! Me and my two friends had the rooms that open to the first pool - Absolutely beautiful. The grounds of the resort are beautifully landscaped and well planned out. Likewise, the food and the service were AMAZING! This hotel even has "turn down service". The hotel has four restaurants and each one is unique with various worldly cuisines. The main restaurant is huge and accommodates large parties of vacationers easily. There are three pools and one with bar! Want to buy some clothing. The resort's boutique will easily accommodate! The resort's fitness center is a full gym with towels and all the equippment even a serious fitness guru could use. Want to body build? DONE! Want to keep your cardio up? DONE! Want to rock climb? You can even do that too! This place has everything. The photos do not lie! Everything they advertise is what you get. The beach area is calm and relaxing! The resort has easy proximity to noisy nightlife if you desire that! Want to Island hop? Plenty of services are available in the area that will pick you up at the resort's main entrance. Again, this place has everything you could need while vacationing in the tropics!

Update before we leave. With perspective, I can summarize that the Pros are more than the cons it this hotel has true potential (conveyed it honestly to the manager on site Alex), they’re doing much to improve. Breakfast isn’t up to par with a five star hotel. Took it up to 4 stars. One tip for those who sleep lite, don’t take Rooms in buildings 1 & 2. The noise coming from the too close road can wreck your sleep+the never ending Rooster calls (not kidding). I’ve decided to post this while we still stay here.. We’re a family of 5 staying at Varana for a week and writing this as a rolling review to help others make informed choices. Pros: • Beautiful beachfront location across from an amazing, calm beach (with free loungers & kayaks). • Resort looks exactly like the photos — modern, clean, and visually stunning. • Staff are kind and welcoming (though many speak only basic English). • Multiple pools, including a large Olympic one. Good for couples or solo travelers who don’t need many free perks. Cons: • Check-in was unusually slow (30+ mins), even though we were the only guests at the time. • Despite early booking and a request for adjoining rooms, we were separated unless we paid for a costly upgrade. • One room had a broken door lock that took 1.5 hours and multiple tries to fix. • Breakfast was relocated to a smaller venue (main dining room not ready), and they require each guest to bring a room card to enter — frustrating for families. • Many advertised activities (like rock climbing or diving) are either paid or have very limited access. Looks like a lot is included, but most comes at a cost. • External kids’ camps use hotel pools, making things feel less exclusive. Tip: Don’t rely solely on social media promos — while there’s a lot to enjoy here, small issues can add up. It’s great for adults, but families should come informed. (Also read the Things you need to know field below, about noisy mornings) With some small changes, this could be a truly exceptional resort
