Vatican Rooms Holiday in Rome

Edoardo and Michele were wonderful! They helped us book our trip to Pompei, took our clothes to the laundromat and picked it up for us. Gave us 5 star treatment. The room was clean and cleaned every day. We loved having use of the kitchen and being able to prepare our own breakfast. Place is close to metro and Vatican City. I would have liked hot water when showering but honestly that was just a small issue. The AC works but could have been a little stronger. However, again, this is not a big deal as we only spent a few hours sleeping. No issues with noise; we slept good every night. The rooms are not as pictured on the website as they are not modern. We heard no noise during the night. Rooms are cleaned every day so we did not mind the rooms.

The host Eduardo was very nice and helpful and gave advice on the best places to eat. His team was also very fast in responding to our messages and making hotel reservations. Plus, the hotel is close to the metro station and the famous Bonci pizza place. Unfortunately, our room looked different than the photos online - in real life the room was of poorer quality. Paper thin walls - you can hear everyone’s private conversations and when they sneeze/cough. Black mold above the shower. The hotel acted more like an Airbnb or hostel - not a professional and quality atmosphere. Storage for our baggage was unsafe because its in the community lounge, where everyone has access to it. Plus, I did not like how we were texted on our personal phone to ask when we are checking out - the hotel policy is 10am why couldn’t that be respected? More of a 2-star hotel than a 3-star.

Vatican Rooms is the main manager of a number of apartments in Rome. We were advised to contact them and communicate with them about our issues. Veneto Suite Rome is where we stayed. We noticed a couple ants on day one and did nothing about it as we didn’t want to make a big deal. On day 2 after a long day of being out we returned to a room/bathroom full of ants. They said they would move us to another room and that room was also covered in ants. They said they would pay for a cab to another place and arrange for us to be moved and it was all talk. We left in the middle of the night as we had an early train. Moved out at 9:30pm after being told they would help and did nothing. Basically paid for a night somewhere else so we didn’t end up on the street. I emailed them multiple times and tried to call and I’m being ignored. Terrible service and terrible everything.
