We just stayed here. There were things we loved and a lot of hiccups because it is new. Loved- the room (we had a 2bed res), the sheets, towels, housekeeping, the property, the spa, yoga... Needs improvement- the food. Breakfast was lovely. But the hotel needs an upscale restaurant particularly because it is far from others. The tapas place does not cut it. Plates were very small and hit or miss. Very expensive. We ate one night in the Ombria Kitchen- there was no alcohol anywhere on the property! What?! We, along with other tables, had to get the manager to make us drinks. This cannot happen at a 5* vacation resort. Golf was great but we waited hours for the drink cart to come by in scorching heat.

We had a very enjoyable stay. We extended from 3 to 4 nights. Room was spacious and the bathroom came with a large tub and separate shower. Everything very new. Very comfortable and staff were all very nice, especially front desk lady (don’t remember her name) who rides a Harley. We booked a golf package with the hotel and was given a room with a very nice view (see photo). The golf course was challenging but very beautiful and memorable. Food at the restaurants was good.. but priced a little high for small portions. And as the restaurants and hotel wasn’t linked, you had to bring an umbrella to get to restaurants, front desk etc when it rains. The hotel felt lux. But looking at the hotel photos you won’t feel it. We believe it’s due to the tiled wall behind the bed.. which kind of “cheapens” the real feel and didn’t go well with the rest of the decor.

Wonderful concept and architecture surrounded by the most gorgeous golf course; however a five star hotel with somewhat of a personality disorder in terms of its restaurants. We expected four restaurants with completely different food or at least one with an international menu - however aside from the wonderful breakfast at Ombria Kitchen, the other restaurants were underwhelming as was the room service menu. As the hotel is not near a town or village, without a car you are somewhat stuck in terms of cuisine. The staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful. For some strange reason, we only had a wine fridge in our room. An ordinary fridge with mini bar would have been more useful, especially in the hot weather.
