This hotel location is on a high-end shopping street in Munich. It is also conveniently close to a lot of areas like Marienplatz that you’d go in Munich, surrounded by architecture. The hotel spa and fitness center were under renovation, so room rates were less than normal when we stayed. However, the room was very comfortable and nice. The lobby and entry were grand. While we did not try the restaurant, we did visit the bar and thought the bar staff as well as front desk staff were really welcoming and we had a great time.

My mom and I decided to splurge here and ended up quite disappointed. For a five star hotel and price we thought we would get good/okay service. The breakfast was slow - we could barely order our drinks because our waitress was slammed, same for the next day. Many things on the buffet were also empty. Our bar experience was similar. We waited 20 minutes to order and got our drinks 40 minutes in. We tried ordering food but our waitress didn’t show up. After 1.5 hours we ended up catching her attention and asked for the bill- we ordered room service which was good and timely. There was someone else at the bar who complained and 2 managers came over to apologize. We also got some drinks in the lobby and after an hour struggled to get the staffs attention. Overall we just think the hotel needs more staff! For the price the service should be at least okay. Oh forgot to mention we asked one of the ladies in red for a dinner reservation and she just listed some names and then ended the conversation - seemed odd. For our nicest hotel of the trip we were just surprised it had the worst service.

Disappointed and Surprised – Loyalty Should Be Recognized This wasn’t an easy review to write. I’m a Titanium Discovery Card member—one of the highest tiers offered—and have proudly used it across numerous countries over many years. During my stay, we stopped by the lobby for drinks and snacks. The service was excellent, and the food and beverages were great. To my surprise, when I asked to use my loyalty card, the staff had no idea what I was referring to. I was told to go to reception myself. I politely insisted that they should check on my behalf, and to their credit, they agreed and handled it professionally. But what came next was baffling—they returned to tell me that they don’t accept the loyalty card. I was stunned. How can a hotel that is part of a global chain not honor its own loyalty program? Especially one that is widely recognized and accepted internationally? It’s ironic—and frankly disappointing—how a great hotel experience can be overshadowed by something so basic. Failing to train staff on your own loyalty system not only reflects poor internal communication but ends up humiliating loyal, high-spending guests. That’s simply unacceptable.
