🌴 Review for Vila Ombak, Gili Trawangan 🌴 We had a truly memorable stay at Vila Ombak — it’s such a beautiful slice of paradise right on the beachfront! The location is absolutely perfect: close to all the action on Gili T, but peaceful enough to unwind and relax. The grounds are lush and tropical, the pools are stunning (especially the one by the beach!). Our room was clean, spacious, and had that charming island feel. Breakfast was buffet style however generous and delicious, with lots of variety. A real highlight of our stay was the buffet BBQ dinner — so many fresh options, with the ocean breeze and twinkly lights setting the mood. The seafood and satay were standouts, and the atmosphere was perfect for a laid-back, romantic evening. The staff were warm, friendly, and always ready to help with a smile. We also appreciated being able to access an ATM safely onsite (huge plus on the island!). Vila Ombak strikes the perfect balance between comfort and island vibes. Highly recommend for couples, solo travelers, or anyone looking for a little luxury without losing that laid-back Gili charm. Would definitely stay again! 🌺🐢🌞
This is a really nice upmarket hotel with a large garden and spacious, quiet rooms. We originally booked two standard rooms; however, we were offered a reasonably priced upgrade to a villa with two rooms, a private pool, garden, and bicycles—which was a great experience. In front of the hotel, there is a beautiful beach where the sea remains high and swimmable for a relatively large portion of the day, compared to other parts of the island. Everywhere on the isalnd, the rocks are exposed at low tide, making swimming impossible, here it is a bit better.
Not the most luxurious hotel, but somehow very relaxing. Good spot close to the ferry and a short walk to most of the good bars and restaurants. Definitely worth considering Only disappointment is that breakfast is a bit of a let down. Selection is small and not particularly cared about (eg most days croissants are undercooked and still dough in the middle; bread is 1970s steam baked out of a packet whereas great bread is readily available at the other hotels nearby)
