The place is amazingly tranquil. Came here with my husband and a group of friends to unwind and it did not disappoint. Would love to come back to stay longer when we get the chance.
Highly recommended. Beautiful place. In general, staff is very kind and gentle. Take care when parking. There are some trees which flowers could damage you car's painting. Food and drinks are a bit expensive compared to good restaurants in the region.
We stayed at Villa Bebek for a few nights and to start with something positive: the hotel area is quite beautiful and well maintained, especially the pool area is nice. The beach is reasonably close and the hotel offers a service to drive you there by Tuktuk (even though we never got to use it). Rooms were ok and clean, quite dark and not as “luxurious” as you would imagine for a four star hotel with the prices of Bebek, but probably according to local standards. Now comes the tricky part. While we don’t expect to be greeted by staff in fluent English, the fact that not a single! staff member during our four day stay was able to speak even a a few words of English, (nor Spanish, French or any language other than Portuguese for that matter) was quite disturbing. You would expect of a four star hotel that at least one person would be able to assist you during the check in and check out process, explain the hotel amenities, services, and rules and also be able to address your concerns. At the very least, an effort could have been made through the use of an online translator or something alike to explain everything to us while there. Instead, we received an SMS with some basic info prior to our stay. That’s it. Hence, staff was quite reserved and not particularly motivated to ensure we felt taken care of, understood or were able to communicate our needs - and that translates over into general quality of service. While it may seem like no biggie, in the end we paid for services that were never offered to us(because nobody could tell us about them or arrange them with us) - like additional food options during breakfast, and also the Tuktuk service. Perhaps it was due to the communication problems, but we didn’t feel valued as guests. Food was underwhelming too. While breakfast was ok, dinner was average quality and highly overpriced at that. We also ordered a dish at dinner without a certain ingredient, only to have it served to us with that ingredient anyway. Luckily, this was only due to preference and not severe allergy, or else we would have been in severe trouble. We had a nice time, because it’s a beautiful area, but were really disappointed with the level of service.
