Nearly everything is perfect for the ones who wants to live in center of a never sleeping city. Hotel is very well located. It is elegantly decorated. The service quality and warmth of the staff makes it a gorgeous experience that you can never forget! Also free of charge real guidance to the any activity you plan is a big extra of all. Rooms are not very large but not very small. All are well designed when you need deep silence you can only have it with your noise killer earpod! 👍🎉 Have fun and rest!

BED BUGS. DO NOT STAY HERE.
We had a horrific experience at Villa Citronella Hotel and strongly urge others to stay elsewhere. Initial Impressions When we arrived, the hotel seemed okay at first glance. But the moment we walked into the room, something felt off. It was dingy, so we checked the mattress—and quickly noticed stained sheets and generally poor cleanliness. Even the soap in the bathroom looked like a mix of water and sludge. We were uncomfortable, but it was nearly midnight, so we stayed the night. The Bed Bugs The next morning, I woke up with bites on my arms. At first, I assumed mosquito bites, but another guest pointed out they looked like bed bug bites. We checked the mattress again—this time underneath—and saw the unmistakable signs of a bed bug infestation. Management’s Response We immediately reported this to the receptionist, Ahmet, and contacted the hotel owners, Ibrahim and Yilmaz. They offered to move us to a different room—or to another hotel they own (Hotel Argos)—but we were too disgusted to stay. They initially said they’d meet us in an hour, but no one showed up for over two hours. First, we were promised a cash refund—then later told we’d receive a refund on our credit card. As of now, we are still waiting. Out-of-Pocket Expenses Because of the infestation, we had to: * Move to another hotel at short notice * Spend over £100 to clean all our clothing * Replace our suitcase (fabric, and could’ve harbored bugs) * Buy clothes just to get through the day When we brought this up with the owners and asked for further compensation, they denied everything—and actually tried to blame us for the infestation. They have said it is ‘bacteria’ differences between us that the mosquitoes are reacting to but that does not explain the distinctive bug bite pattern of the bites. I also had a doctor confirm that it was bug bites. This raises serious concerns about their willingness to take responsibility or protect future guests. Documentation To be completely transparent, we’ve included: * Pictures of the bites on my arms. They were as uncomfortable as they look. * Photos of the mattress and bedding (including the stone wall of our room. You can compare with the pics of the room on their website) * Pictures of the stained sheets * Pictures of mold on the bathroom ceiling * Screenshots of our WhatsApp conversation with the owner We have posted this on a few different sites to hopefully inform travellers before they have to deal with a situation like ours. We had hoped that management would be responsible and accountable but this was not the case. I will post an update if they do anything to remedy this. Final Word Do not stay here. The lack of cleanliness, serious health risk, and refusal to take responsibility were shocking. We are sharing this to protect other travelers. Please, stay away from Villa Citronella Hotel.

Overall, it was horrible. Starting from staff, they did not understand English really well and I had trouble communicating with them. MULTIPLE personal belongings were stolen from me and my friends, such as: expensive makeup products that were located in the bag and closed, jewellery which was a Pandora ring and a Swarovski necklace located in the special boxes, clothes such as ALL underwear that was tucked in the bags, food that was bought by me and my friends was also thrown away without permission, as well as the chocolate bars that were under clothes in the suitcase. Additionally, our clothes were found under bed and worms/insects ON THE BED! After we told about all the problems to the manager/staff and went for a walk, our rooms were searched from top to bottom, as well WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION AT ALL. To solve the stealing problem we asked for, no cleaning, which did not stop them and still entered the room for no reason and searched our bags the second time. This is UNACCEPTABLE towards the clients staying in the hotel, it crosses personal space, and is not professional. Moving on, the room I stayed in with my friend was extremely small, we barely had any space. The window did not close which caused extreme noise in the room, from the outside disco parties and morning loud praying ceremonies. Bathroom was small as well, hot water was sometimes turned off and electricity went down for 1:30h which was unpleasant. In addition our towels were changed only once throughout 6 days. Breakfast was okay, but still, it only included some kinds of vegetables, 2 fried eggs in one plate that was cooked for 2 persons and told that it is enough, cheese pie, and bitter tea, that’s why next days I bought yogurts to feel full. I would not recommend staying in this hotel FOR SURE, nothing was pleasant, only negative experiences, which made me and my friends not safe, and we wanted to return home as quickly as possible.
