My wife and I recently stayed at Villa dei Tigli for two nights and used this location as our base for visiting Mantua and surroundings. The villa is beautiful and well maintained, rooms are large and clean, and the grounds are adorned by splendid mature trees. Staff are very friendly and attentive, and helped us with our tourist needs. We only used the restaurant for breakfast and it was very good. There is also plenty of free parking in the forecourt. The village of Rodigo is s few minutes' walk away and offers additional dining options.
Its a beautifull hotel, airconditioning, Lovely garden and a nice pool.. Diner is great! Would recommend it to my Friends.
We were visiting from Denmark and were struck with the hotel's inability to speak English. Some of the staff did not speak a single word whereas a few other seemed to have learned a few lines to get by. At least it made us feel unwelcome as we thought it looked like the staff were intentionally avoiding us. The food on the other hand was really good, though the kitchen closed without warning for two days which to our standards is unacceptable for a hotel with four stars. The breakfast was okay but was not filled quickly enough making us sit and wait for more. The pool was only cleaned by a robot during the early hours of the day, meaning that by day four it started to turn green by algae rendering it unsuitable for use. It is located on the countryside which is extremely cosy but also means that there is only one other pizzeria in town. And to our luck this particular pizzeria went on vacation shortly after our arrival making us drive to the nearby towns to get dinner. All in all we would NOT recommend a stay here unless you speak Italian..
