We spent 6 unforgettable nights at Gran Meliá with my parents and boyfriend. The resort is even more stunning in person—spacious, luxurious, and filled with activities. Our package included free airport transfers, a daily cocktail and daily 30 minute massage (we highly recommend). The free airport transfer was also a nice and easy service. Some other highlights include break fast buffet (fresh and sweet coconuts!, so much fresh food), mineral pool, beachside spa and cold plunge, excellent gym, snorkelling in warm wave free water and seeing lots of fish/ coral/ sea life and paddle boarding —you truly never need to leave! It was also shocking to see they had a beautiful Turkish bath which is such a luxurious service. Rooms were very spacious, beautiful and cleaned twice a day. Perfect for families, with a large kids club featuring Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, table tennis, plus beach volleyball and badminton. The staff were very professional and attentive, special mention to Sugar and Tracy Do for their services, Chi for her rejuvenating stretch classes and Fiona for top-tier cocktails. Highly recommend – we made amazing time!

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful 9-night stay at Villa Le Corail in a Deluxe One-Bedroom Pool Villa, booked through Luxury Escapes to celebrate our anniversary. The Pool Villa was a true haven as it was incredibly spacious, spotlessly clean, and we particularly appreciated that the private pool was large enough to actually swim laps comfortably. Getting around the resort was effortless. Calling for the buggy service using the inhouse butler service on Whatsapp was simple, and they consistently arrived within just a few minutes, making trips to the lobby, great private beach (where it is calm enough to use the kayaks provided by the resort, which was a real highlight of our stay there, highly recommended!), or restaurants very convenient. The breakfast buffet was a daily highlight. It was well-appointed, and offered fantastic variety of fresh salads, hot foods and even select à la carte dishes to elevate it further – the freshly made churros were a particular treat! The quality and quantity were so good that we often skipped lunch, which was perfect. Our Luxury Escapes package included meal vouchers usable at any of the three restaurants, each offereing a distinct and enjoyable experience. We encountered many genuinely warm and attentive staff members. A special shout-out to the hard-working restaurant managers at the buffet, and the coffee attendant who remembered our preferences and made absolutely perfect Vietnamese coffees every morning – a delightful personal touch. There were however, a few aspects that detracted slightly from the seamless luxury expected: 1. The stacked villa design (two villas per structure) was our main functional disappointment. Being in a lower villa meant significantly reduced privacy for the pool area. Guests staying above could easily look down onto our pool and deck from their balcony. For a private pool villa setting, this lack of seclusion was surprising. Luckily our parents were staying in the room on the top floor so it wasn't as a big deal as it could have been. 2. Stingy & Baffling Water Policy: The limit of 4 hotel filtered water bottles per villa per day was genuinely shocking and felt incredibly stingy for a luxury resort, especially in a location where tap water isn't safe. Being told "no" when requesting additional basic drinking water (and having to buy our own) was a first in our luxury travel experience and frankly, unacceptable at this level. This policy needs urgent review. 3. We experienced a few noticeable service lapses: A server at the pancake station insisted we take pre-made cold pancakes instead of preparing a fresh one upon request. A bar tender forgor to clarify our package inclusions before serving. This resulted in us receiving a standard drink instead of being offered the wider selection available under Luxury Escapes, requiring clarification afterwards. Overall, it was a luxurious and comfortable experience with some truly standout elements, though a few service aspects could be refined.

I recently had the chance to stay at this 5-star hotel, and while my experience had its highlights, it ultimately fell short of expectations. Room Quality (5/5): The hotel room was undoubtedly one of its strongest points. The space was beautifully designed, featuring contemporary decor and modern furnishings. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The attention to detail in the room's cleanliness was commendable, and I appreciated the array of amenities provided, including a well-stocked mini-bar, a coffee maker, and high-quality toiletries. Facilities (4/5) The hotel boasted exceptional facilities, including a luxurious spa and a well-equipped gym. The pool area was inviting, and the terrace provided a stunning view of the beach. However, during peak hours, some facilities felt overcrowded, and it was challenging to find available loungers by the pool. The villa swimming pool is not safe for children. Service Quality (2/5) This was where the experience significantly declined. While the hotel staff was polite, the service lacked the efficiency and professionalism expected from a 5-star establishment. Check-in and check-out took longer than anticipated, with only two staffs member available. Room service was another letdown, as there were delays in both response time and food delivery. On arrival occasions, The fruit welcoming us was wilted and seemed to be leftover from other guests. Dining Experience (3/5) The hotel’s restaurant offered a good variety of dishes, and the breakfast buffet was impressive, featuring fresh fruits and pastries. However, in room dining options were overpriced for the quality received. Service in the restaurant was also slow, which detracted from the overall dining experience. Location (4/5) The hotel’s location was not convenient. We have travel 30 minutes to the city center. Overall Impression While the hotel excelled in terms of room quality and facilities, the inconsistencies in service left me feeling disappointed. With some improvements in staff training and service efficiency, this hotel could easily elevate its level of service to match its luxurious standards. I hope to see enhancements in these areas in future visits, as the potential is undoubtedly there.
