Villa San Michele A Belmond Hotel Florence

Villa San Michele is truly a remarkable hotel, set on the hills above Florence, offering a spectacular view of the city. Location The hotel is housed in a stunning historical building, about 20-30 minutes drive from Florence’s old center. While it’s not within walking distance of major attractions, its peaceful setting away from the city crowds is a major plus. Fortunately, the hotel provides a complimentary shuttle service, though you’ll need to plan around their schedule. We managed to use it every day of our stay, which made getting into the city quite convenient. Rooms The rooms are decorated in a classic Italian style spacious and elegant, though personally, I prefer a more modern design. However, if you appreciate traditional Italian decor, these rooms will be perfect for you. Breakfast & Service Breakfast was outstanding, both in quality and presentation. The staff was incredibly friendly, offering detailed explanations about the food. And the view from the breakfast area? Simply breathtaking. The Hotel & Atmosphere The real highlight of Villa San Michele is the hotel itself. The historical architecture, combined with beautifully maintained gardens, creates an unforgettable atmosphere. I could easily spend an entire day just exploring the hotel and admiring its design. Final Thoughts Although it’s not located in the heart of Florence, Villa San Michele is undoubtedly one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed at. If you’re looking for a luxurious and tranquil retreat with an unbeatable view, I highly recommend spending a few days here while visiting Florence.

Ideal hotel to get the best of a city break and rural escape. Wonderful to visit Florence having enjoyed the amazing big picture view that the hotel provides. The food at the main restaurant has especially good Tuscan cooking. Service is faultless as you'd expect. I especially enjoyed having a drink on the lawn - really great cocktails (although I didn't like the presentation of their specials using fans, which felt clunky -- small note!) My only other note is that as a solo traveller they didn't quite nail the experience: reminding staff that it's just me a few too many times. Apart from this thanks for a wonderful stay!

We stayed at the Villa for two nights for our anniversary, and it was perfect in every way! The hotel staff was so friendly and provided exceptional service! The Villa itself is so, so, beautiful, pictures don't justify it's beauty! It felt like a dream staying there. Just an absolutely beautiful villa with amazing breathtaking views of Florence. We also had an upgrade to our hotel room which was awesome, and the hotel left us a cute flower arrangement on our bed since it was our anniversary! That was really sweet of them and it made our stay even more memorable. There is a free hotel shuttle that takes you to the city center of Florence, and picks you up too.The hotel also has parking, which was awesome since we had a rental car, and I noticed it's hard to find a hotel with parking in Italy. Location is perfect, as it's also close driving distance to other cities in Tuscany. An hour and a half drive to Pisa. Short driving distance to neighboring vineyards, wine tasting, picturesque Tuscan scenery. Thank you Belmond Villa San Michele for such a wonderful stay in our first time to Italy! I highly recommend this hotel, and would definitely stay there again. Mahalo from Hawaii! :)
