It is more of a corporate focused hotel than suitable for other guests. Food ok but some items came with extras not mentioned on the menu. Breakfast is very basic and expected more from a 4-star hotel. No choice of eggs with cooked side. Food is good at the start of service time it very poor by the end. Could definitely have managed to almost cook to order as never busy. Prices of drinks are very expensive. Staff are not very engaged with guests. No sign of any housekeeping all week - more focused on green initiatives than cleanliness in rooms. Lesser rated establishments would at least turn down bed and empty bins. Neither was done once. Look elsewhere for better suitability when visiting Edinburgh

I stayed at the Village Hotel Edinburgh for three nights, and overall, the experience did not meet my expectations. While the hotel has a modern appearance, the service fell short in several areas. One major issue was the room cleaning policy. Unless you place a specific card on the door requesting housekeeping, your room won’t be cleaned. This system is inconvenient and unreasonable — I spent three days without any cleaning simply because I wasn’t aware of this unusual requirement. For a hotel of this standard, basic room service should be automatic. Another incident during the stay was the fire alarm going off. We were evacuated outside until the situation was resolved, which shows the safety system was functioning properly — but once we returned, the elevators were out of service and we had to use the stairs to get back to our rooms. This added more inconvenience, especially for guests with children or luggage. In the end, the service did not reflect the hotel’s sleek look. I’ve stayed in several hotels in Edinburgh before, and unfortunately, this was one of the weaker experiences. I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

Our stay at Hotel Village in Edinburgh was a disaster. We booked two rooms at £275 per room, expecting a comfortable stay, but what we got was a series of issues that made our experience unbearable. The toilet sink in our room was clogged, and on a hot day, the air conditioner didn't work. We reached out to the staff multiple times for help, even as late as 3 am, but despite their efforts, they couldn't resolve the issues. One staff member's suggestion to open the windows for ventilation was impractical, given that the windows were jammed shut. What's more, the manager wasn't helpful in addressing our concerns. Instead of taking responsibility, they directed us to contact for refunds. This lack of accountability was disappointing, especially considering the premium price we paid. To add insult to injury, we also paid £75 per room for breakfast, only to be served horrible food. Given the subpar experience and exorbitant prices, I would strongly advise against staying at Hotel Village in Edinburgh. The hotel failed to deliver on its promises, and we left feeling frustrated and disappointed.
