4* due to the room given with no window viewing outside, but a window in the bathroom seeing the building. Everything else in the room is great. Great air-con! Everything is clean and tidy. The bathroom is one of those visible/invisible with a touch of a button, which is thought was very cool. Checking in and asking qeustions, the staff was very polite and friendly. The location is good, easy access to the main road to the motorway. Outside the hotel, you can have a walk. Lots of runners there.
Great hotel but it's very modern and clearly has a younger audience and vibe with the decor and the very good gym. Lots of people come for the gym from what I can tell. Nothing to complain about really, but not quite my style.
Was staying as attending a course in the city centre. Arrived Sunday night at 22:00 following a 5 hour drive down south. I was greeted by friendly staff at check in and no issues with the check in process. As I was a corporate customer the parking was included in the room rate paid. I went to my room which was modern but very small. A modern shower and toilet suite was separated by a glass wall with a sliding door that doesn’t close fully and within this space is the only window. So while modern lack of window in the bedroom area was not good and claustrophobic. Decoration was also bold and busy as I say with no natural light. I was woken first night about 05:15 by the bin man as my room was near that area, this was immediately followed by the glass wagon and a loud glass smashing for a few minutes, hardly conducive with a restful night. Around 06:30 the music began. I looked over a ‘outdoor boot camp’ area and what appeared to be a physical centre separate to the hotel gym.this was a morning class, and there was one every day at this time so no need for an alarm clock! The classes are regular throughout the day till between 9 and 10 at night so don’t try to rest if facing this area between 0630 and 2200. While there is an abundance of negatives to do with the room, lay out, no window, no door that closed between toilet and bed area and garish decoration I have to say it was clean and towels and soap/shower gel and hand wash was available with the cleanliness being the only reason I improved the 1 star to 2. While it is exceptionally unlikely I will elect to stay here in the future when I’m on my next course, due to mainly the room lay out and noise, I should imagine the hotel it would appeal to those who like modern design and staying for one or two nights, rooms are not bug enough and lack clothes space for any more than this.
