A great experience at the Village. Bradley and Craig at the bar friendly and helpful when I asked about food and drinks. Nothing was too much trouble. The village had a feel of a local pub but with excellent facilities especially the sports on big screens with additional television about the bar. All in all the best place in the Shirley/Solihull area to visit for good food drink and great hospitality. A big shout out well deserved

I had booked a Club Room, expecting a higher standard of comfort and service, but unfortunately, this was not delivered. The room itself was poorly maintained – furniture was stained and electrical appliances were in an unsafe condition, with exposed wires that posed a real hazard. The facilities overall were below average, and when I raised concerns, the staff appeared disinterested and unhelpful. From the moment I arrived, the experience was off-putting. I was dismissed at check-in and told to wait, with no effort made to acknowledge or confirm my Club Room booking until much later. To make matters worse, since my stay, I have attempted to contact the hotel multiple times via email, but my concerns have been completely ignored. This is far below the standard I expected and certainly not worth the premium paid for a Club Room. I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere until the hotel seriously improves its customer service and maintained standards.
I’m extremely disappointed with my recent stay at The Village Hotel. Whilst the room and poolside facilities were satisfactory, Shortly after checking out within just 20 minutes I realised I had accidentally left behind some electrical items in the room. I immediately contacted the hotel to report this, expecting a prompt and honest response. I was advised the room would not have been cleaned just yet. I advised the hotel I will return later that day to collect as I was due to travel back to London that night after a wedding. I returned to the hotel around 5pm, Unfortunately, despite how quickly I alerted them, the hotel advised the items were never recovered ir found. Given the short time frame and the lack of accountability or transparency from the staff, I can’t help but feel that my belongings may have been taken by the cleaner or someone with access to the room. I trusted the hotel to maintain a safe and professional environment, but this experience has left me with serious doubts. The items were not expensive items however as a professional hotel I would not expect this. God forbidden if I had left something valuable behind or in the room whilst I was not in and housekeeping or someone accessed the room. I strongly urge future guests to double-check everything before leaving or when leaving the room unattended because you may not get your items back and you certainly shouldn’t expect much help from the hotel once you have left, they dont even answer the phone now. It’s not difficult to pinpoint who accessed the room for cleaning.
