The hotel is located on top of a beautiful hill of green luscious vineyard in the town of Serralunga 'dAlba. The view is scenic and breathtaking. The hotel is well maintained with the most dedicated staff I have seen. My wife and I went for a hike around the area but the ground was wet and muddy. Our shoes were covered in mud upon our return. We asked the staff where to wash our shoes and a kind staff brought us to the basement toilet. As I needed to go back to my room to bathe, I left my dirty shoes in this basement toilet. But when I returned after showering, this staff was already in the process of washing our dirty shoes for us! It was unbelievable and pleasantly surprised by her act of kindness. Thank you, Eleanora. We will not forget your kindness. Another staff who had helped us with our booking for another room for my son was Eleanor. Booking.com made a mess of our booking but she helped to resolve it. That really helped us out tremendously. A great hotel with great staff all round!
A really beautiful location, we stayed here with a group of friends for my birthday weekend. It is a magical spot, with stunning views out across an amphitheatre of vineyards and little villages. The rooms and facilities are beautifully designed, the food is fantastic. The thing that really makes it though are the staff. So kind and friendly, they turned a good weekend into an amazing weekend, helping us organise trips out to see the area, go truffle hunting and taste wonderful wines.
Disappointed with Our Stay - I will not go back The hotel has many positives: it is modern, boasts stunning views, and enjoys an excellent location between Alba and Barolo. The staff were friendly and consistently helpful, and the pool was a highlight, especially for our kids who loved spending their afternoons there after our busy mornings exploring the area. However, despite these positives, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. We booked the suite (room number 8) at 800 euros per night, but it fell far short of expectations. The room had a serious pest issue with an infestation of Asian bedbugs (cimici asiatiche). Over the course of our three-day stay, I killed more than 80 of them. Although the reception staff were aware of this ongoing issue and even had an ozone machine to address it, it didn’t make any significant difference. The wooden ceiling seemed to be the source of the problem, and while the hotel mentioned its eco-friendly nature as a reason for limited intervention, that made the situation unacceptable, as we made repeatedly clear. The bed in the suite was another disappointment. It lacked firmness, causing my husband and me to sink into the middle, leading to considerable discomfort and back pain by the end of our stay. When paying a premium price, a comfortable, high-quality bed should be a given, but unfortunately, that was not the case here. We also ordered an extra bed for our son to sleep on the same level as us, rather than upstairs, and were charged 80 euros per night for it—an unexpected and excessive rate. We had initially been informed it would cost 8 euros per night over the phone. My husband joked that buying a bed might have been cheaper, and given the poor quality of the extra bed, it certainly felt that way. Lastly, the breakfast selection was underwhelming. There was no fruit available, just a limited assortment of croissants, muffins, cookies, and cereals. While the menu did offer items such as crepes, omelettes, scrambled eggs, and fried eggs, the choices were basic and lacked variety. Overall, while the hotel has potential, the issues we experienced overshadowed the positives, making our stay disappointing.
