Having spent 8 days at this fab villa, I feel the last review is very unfair and certainly not what we, as a family of 5 experienced. Piero was welcoming, helpful and friendly from the start. The villa was spotless and the terrace had plentiful, comfortable furniture ( with cushions! ) The villa is decorated traditionally and we felt very at home. It’s so peaceful, such a relaxing holiday, but also very close to supermarkets, 15 mins into Sassari with lovely bars and restaurants and 30 mins from Alghero which is a fab place to visit. There are also many local restaurants nearby. We loved the pool, outdoor cooking and dining area and the villa is well maintained, we didn’t need to use all of the rooms as it’s so big. The surrounding garden area has beautiful fig, olive and lemon trees and Piero said we could help ourselves to the delicious figs. Piero was helpful with local recommendations, kind and generous, as well as maintaining our space. We would certainly recommend to friends and family, and hope to return one day.

Sardinian family home converted into a B&B, very warm welcome from Piero, who is full of little attentions, to ensure the stay goes well, the exterior is a real plus with its fitted outdoor kitchen.

Update: It was previously an honest 3-star review. Since the landlord called us gypsies via WhatsApp after the review, I'm adjusting the rating to one star. A good host takes criticism seriously and doesn't insult their guests. FYI: We already raised the criticisms during our stay, but as the photos show, a quick change was impossible anyway. Piero gave us a clothesline he was now criticizing to hang laundry. We even washed and hung up all the towels for the next guests. He thanked us for that. We were and still are good guests, even leaving toys, non-perishable food, and ice cream there, oiling the doors, and cleaning the barbecue utensils and grill. We wanted to feel comfortable. With this reaction from the landlord and the way he handled criticism (the photos speak for themselves), it's clear: Never again! —- We are conducting this review at the request of the landlord (Piero), whom we remember as very friendly and helpful. First, the positives: Piero was very friendly and always available. There were even three small surprises in the form of sweet pastries. We would have preferred a good bread roll or a roll, but he was extremely friendly, and we greatly appreciated that. The pool was adequate, and the house has plenty of space overall, with a total of three refrigerators and one freezer. A cool extra is the basketball hoop. The location makes it relatively quiet. The windows and the mosquito nets were great. The takeover and handover of the property went smoothly and quickly. For an honest review, however, there are also negative aspects to mention: When we arrived, the air conditioning was off and the house was at a high temperature. It could have been cooled down a few hours earlier. The furnishings are spartan, and some of the slatted frames are unfortunately mounted backwards, so you lie through them. Behind the house, you can see a mountain of garbage, which isn't due to "reorganization" but has obviously been like this for years. The technical equipment is somewhat bizarre. The oven is not built in, sitting on a cupboard. The power cable is mounted in a rather adventurous manner. The oven never worked. Unfortunately, if you look around the house, you see a lot of accumulated stuff; you'd probably need a few large containers to fill them all. There are boxes lying around, both old and new. The air conditioning units haven't been serviced. We first cleaned the filters. Not all bedrooms have air conditioning, which is a real nuisance in the Sardinian summer. Some walls have been pre-assembled, but the wall unit has obviously been missing for some time. Someone has started painting on the terrace; old paint rollers are lying around, and the walls are half-finished. It could be made more welcoming without much effort. Almost all of the furniture on the terrace is broken and lacks cushions. According to the landlord, the furniture was destroyed by crows in the winter. Yes, of course! The main entrance is unkempt. You should bring adapters, as the sockets have special dimensions. The water pressure is sometimes unpredictable, as it's very irregular, and the mixer somehow doesn't work properly either. The top floor isn't really rentable as it is. You can't stand in the bathroom, and the shower is unusable due to the water pressure. The internet connection is mediocre. We surfed a lot using our own cellular router. A little grease or oil for all the doors would have been beneficial. A tourist tax was also required, for which the landlord promised a receipt twice, but never brought it despite reminders. In one room, there were two closets full of personal jackets, and the bedspreads hadn't been cleaned in a while. Conclusion: Overall, we had a good vacation and wouldn't book this property again in its current condition. Thanks to Piero for the friendly service!
