Villino Mary

My kids and I stayed at this family-run place after spending the day at Cavallino Matto, and it exceeded my expectations on every front. The place is definitely more beautiful than in the pictures and you have a view of the cute hilltop village of Castagneto Carducci from their expansive lawn. In the morning we woke up to the sounds of birds chirping and the most delicious smell of freshly-baked pastries wafting through our window which opened out to greenery all around. After a wonderful breakfast sitting out under a large tree in the back garden we spent all day at the pool. The lunch at the restaurant was also excellent, same with their own Vermentino wine. I wish I could have stayed longer, and this will definitely be my special place to go with my kids. This is also a great place for nature-loving, sporty people. The place has tennis courts, a soccer field and a basketball court on top of a hiking trail. I also saw bikers passing through. Supposedly they host summer camps for children in June and July. I can imagine what fun it would be to do a camp here. Overall what a pleasant discovery!

The first hotel in Italy which is really well cared about, no small nor big signs of usage. Great place with great people (and dog, and mum cat and kitten). It smells so good all around, mandarins, olives, roses - 550 varieties of plants. Well cleaned, very good kitchen.
