Around 7km from Madelana, but absolutely lovely in every regard. The villas are to die for, I want one. Vaulted ceilings, separate bedrooms, folding beds, views out to the ocean and Faial. Staff go over and above in spades. A car is recommended, we are here short duration unfortunately, but not a problem with taxi's available. A shout out to the Road House Cafe too. Where we are now with a drink ready to eat a meal of burger and fries. Only simple meals in the evening, but a place filled with character.
A lovely experience all around and a wonderful location to explore Pico from including easy access on foot to the ocean and the historic vineyard walking trail. Rooms are large, comfortable and clean. The manager Joana is so lovely.
I was looking forward to staying here until I realized that the only accepted form of payment was a wire banking transfer. It made me very uncomfortable/uneasy to proceed with the booking (requires you to send proof of payment within 2 days). It was flagged as potential scam by Wise (to convert USD to EUR). We opted to not go that route due to the risk and booked accommodations elsewhere. The reviews made this place very compelling and real but then I got scared away.
